1. AIR BLOWER
Our most used tool was by far our air blower. It's extremely handy, especially when travelling with dogs! It's so convenient to use when you want to do a quick clean out of the car after a day at the beach, a quick tidy up of the camper trailer or your camp site etc. I even took my Dyson stick vacuum cleaner (that I swear by for the home) and never even used it once! It actually became a waste of space. We run the Milwaukee M18 Compact Blower, and we couldn't fault it! It's quiet, it's compact, it's easy to use and does the job. We purchased ours from Total Tools. Handy tip: Make sure you also buy a spare battery :)
2. PORTABLE FRIDGE
This was one of those items we knew we wanted/needed to take with us on our trip, but weren't initially convinced on spending the money to buy a high quality product, when there were cheaper options on the market. Mark did a lot of research before purchasing one. He even considered buying a second hand one but decided he would prefer having the warranty that comes with it when you purchase it brand new. So we bit the bullet.
And the verdict is in... We are super glad we decided to invest in our Dometic Waeco CFX3 95DZ Dual Zone Fridge / Freezer A2 Grey 94 L.
It has generous storage space, with the ability to remove the wire baskets if you wish. It has more than enough room for us (2 adults & 2 dogs) to stock up on about 3-4 days of supplies, so we can go completely off-grid. It also has a mobile app so you can control the temperature to exactly how you like it. Here is a photo of ours sitting nicely in our camper trailer fridge slide! We purchased ours from BCF Australia.
Handy tip: you can get it even cheaper through BCF if you are a club member ;)
3. PORTABLE GAS BUTANE STOVE
If you have been following us for a while, you would know how much we bang on about this weapon of a product - All4Adventure Inset Cooking Pan Butane Stove. We have even done a giveaway on this exact item, just to give you an idea on how much we recommend them!
We use our stove every night to rustle up dinner whilst on the road. We love that we can still cook our classic favourites; spag bol, carbonara, chicken burgers, rissoles, the list goes on! It's non stick and runs off butane canisters.
This is definitely a campsite essential for us, and we love that it even comes with a handy carry case for extra convenience. Chuck it in your boot and you are ready to go! We purchased ours from BCF Australia.
4. BLUETOOTH SPEAKER/RADIO
Don't get me wrong, you can definitely get your hands on smaller, more compact speakers these days, but we decided to take Mark's work radio with us - The Milwaukee M18 Jobsite Radio and it did not disappoint. The beauty about this particular set up, is that its got a built in charger, which means we can use our spare Milwaukee batteries. It also happens to be compatible with our air blower (so bonus points for that). This radio has Digital Bluetooth, a USB Power port, is super tough (hence why its a jobsite radio), has a bottle opener, has premium speakers which are surprisingly loud and has a weather sealed compartment where you can stash your phone while it charges.
We love it, and it sits up on our kitchen table be, and highly recommend it! We purchased ours from Total Tools.
5. GAZEBO
Because we were only staying at each stop for 3-4 nights at a time, instead of setting up our Annex at every site, we decided to run our 4.5x3m Wanderlust Gazebo. It keeps us dry when it rains and provides ample shade on the hotter days. We have never had any issues with it leaking and it always stays in its place, with the help of some tough pegs. It has 3 adjustable leg heights, which is rather convenient when setting up at different sites when the level varies. It even comes with a wheel carry bag for easy transport. We purchased ours from BCF Australia.
6. MUK MAT
What a bloody life saver these mats are. They are synthetic grass mats and are essential when camping - especially if you have dogs! We put our Extra Large Muk Mat at the bottom of our Camper Trailer stairs, and it significantly helped reduce the amount of dirt and whatever else that would otherwise got dragged through our trailer. Sometimes the dogs even would lay on it for a nap, because it's so soft. They are so easy to clean, all we do is give it a good shake and sometimes a hose down if need be. They roll up and take up no space at all. We are huge fans of the Muk Mats and for us, they are a no brainer! We purchased ours directly from Muk Mat.
Cheers!
