T.F.M.R Resources.
Updated: Apr 3, 2022
I am so sorry that you find yourself here, walking this unimaginable torturous path, for the rest of your life.
Here are some resources for Termination For Medical Reasons, that I have found helpful over the last year, whilst I have been processing the loss of our son, and trying to figure out how to move forward with life after loss.
I feel it is really important for TFMR Mummas to stick together, bounce of each other and to share resources to help us navigate our way.
RED NOSE & SANDS AUSTRALIA
In November 2020, Sands merged operations with Red Nose Australia. As a merged organisation, they are Australia’s leading organisation working both to prevent babies and young children dying suddenly and unexpectedly, and support services for families following the tragic death of their baby or child during pregnancy, infancy and early childhood.
You can access 24/7 telephone support, online live chats with Volunteer Parent Supporters, email support, face-to-face support groups in your area. They also offer Fathers Support Services, which I feel isn't represented nearly enough.

PINK ELEPHANTS
Pink Elephants provides the latest resources, information and peer-support for anyone impacted by early pregnancy loss. They seek to normalise early pregnancy loss by smashing the stigma and leading a new narrative, through evidence-based data, acknowledging the diversity of experiences, providing useful tools and content, and facilitating meaningful connections.

BEARS OF HOPE
Bears of Hope offer empathetic individual counselling or group support to help you in your journey.
They provide grief workshops, counsellor support, grief wellness groups, peer support groups and hold various events throughout the year in Australia, always encouraging you to join.
I also appreciate their hard work on raising much needed funds for placing Cuddle Cots in hospitals, funeral homes or anywhere else they are needed.
A Cuddle Cot is a cooling system that has been designed to fit within a Shnuggle basket and lies beneath their baby. When a baby dies, there is a short window of time for a family to create memories, say hello and goodbye to their child and the lifetime they had dreamed for them. A Cuddle Cot allows the family to spend every moment with their baby, precious moments where every minute counts before saying goodbye forever.
They made spending 24 hours with our boy, possible.

HEARTFELT
Heartfelt is a volunteer organisation of professional photographers across Australia and New Zealand. Heartfelt photographers give the gift of photographic memories to families that have experienced stillbirths, premature births or have children with serious and terminal illnesses. You can request a photographer via the Heartfelt website.
We were so grateful to the volunteer that arrived on Christmas Eve in the year 2020 to capture our first and last moments with our son. Photos that we will cherish for ever.
